Nurturing Dreams, Fostering Compassion

Greetings! I’m Karl Franklin, co-founder of Franklin Family Support Services, alongside my wife Janelle. Located in Waterford West, we’re committed to establishing a nurturing environment for clients under NDIS SIL and Respite Service.

Our vision extends beyond traditional support services. Situated on a sprawling acre and a half block, our three properties form the foundation of our dream—a small Hobby Farm. Here, our clients engage in cultivating fruits and vegetables for personal consumption, learning basic animal husbandry with small livestock (Sheep, Goats, Alpacas), and caring for poultry (Chickens, Ducks, Geese). With river frontage and a private boat ramp, fishing becomes a serene activity for our clients. The proximity to Tygum Lagoon and its parklands adds to the beauty, offering a mere 250 meters’ walk.

The decision to become a Service Provider arises from our firsthand experiences and observing neglect and abuse within the sector. Our commitment to transparency and safeguarding vulnerable individuals is evident through our provision of internal cameras in settings where participants cannot advocate for themselves in any way. This option, aligned with the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) Article 22, respects privacy while ensuring liberty, security, and freedom from exploitation, violence, and abuse (Articles 14 and 16).

Having worked in the sector for many years, my wife and I also have five children actively contributing to it, inspiring our business name. Fully registered through the NDIS (Reg no: 4-IP9P44X) since June 13, 2023, our registration groups span various services, including Assist Travel Transport, Daily Living Life Skills, Daily Personal Activities, and more.

Housing

Company-owned homes, modified for individual needs, prioritize single-level living with a pending covered communal area. Acreage with river frontage includes a private boat ramp; two homes feature theatre rooms.
