Casual Disability Support Workers, ENs, AINs & Nursing Students

Franklin Family Support Services (FFSS) is looking for compassionate, reliable and experienced support staff to join our growing team.

We support a diverse range of participants with disability, complex physical support needs, psychosocial disability and mental health needs. We are looking for people who are passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred support and helping participants live safe, active, meaningful and independent lives.

We are particularly interested in applicants with experience in mental health and psychosocial support, complex disability, high-care needs and community-based support.

 

💙 About the Role

Depending on the participant and their individual support needs, your role may include:

  • Personal care and assistance with daily living
  • Hoisting, transfers and manual handling
  • PEG feeding and mealtime support
  • Medication assistance within your scope of practice
  • Mental health and psychosocial support
  • Supporting participants with emotional regulation and wellbeing
  • Following Behaviour Support Plans and individual support plans
  • Community access and social engagement
  • Supporting independence and participation in meaningful activities
  • Maintaining accurate documentation, progress notes and incident reporting
  • Communicating effectively with participants, families, stakeholders and the wider support team

 

👥 About You

We’re looking for people who:

  • Have experience within disability, mental health, psychosocial or complex care environments
  • Are confident supporting participants with varying and complex support needs
  • Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Are calm, reliable, proactive and professional
  • Understand the importance of dignity, choice, independence and person-centred care
  • Can work independently and confidently during 1:1 supports
  • Work effectively as part of a broader multidisciplinary team
  • Are passionate about making a genuine difference in the lives of the people they support

 

📋 Essential Requirements

Applicants must have, or be eligible to obtain and maintain:

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Blue Card / Working with Children Check
  • Current First Aid & CPR
  • Current Australian Driver Licence
  • Reliable vehicle
  • Availability across a 24/7 roster, including weekends, active nights and sleepovers where required

  • Support Workers with mental health or psychosocial disability experience
  • Support Workers experienced in complex care and high physical support needs
  • Enrolled Nurses (ENs)
  • Assistants in Nursing (AINs)
  • Nursing students
  • Applicants with experience in behaviour support, community access, personal care, PEG feeding, hoisting and complex manual handling

Volunteer With Our Breakfast Club

Help give students a positive start to their school day. 💙

The Franklin Family Support Services Breakfast Club is a community initiative supporting schools across the Logan area by helping provide students with a positive, welcoming and nourishing start to their school day.

We’re looking for friendly, reliable and community-minded volunteers to join us at our Park Ridge and Beenleigh locations and help make the Breakfast Club a success.

What You’ll Help With

Volunteers may assist with:

  • 🍳 Preparing and setting up breakfast
  • 🥣 Serving breakfast to students
  • 📦 Setting up the breakfast area
  • 🧹 Packing up and cleaning after breakfast
  • 💙 Creating a welcoming and positive environment for students

📌 Volunteer Requirements

Volunteers must be eligible to obtain or hold a Volunteer Blue Card.

No matter how much time you can give, your contribution can help us continue providing breakfast and creating positive experiences for students in our community.
